The Blackberry Pearl 34 flip phone is unique, in that it is the first Blackberry with the clam shell design. It might not be the smallest flip phone on the market, but it definitely has it's perks.

Stylish Design

The design of the Blackberry 34 is a bit of an acquired taste, the top half is a stylish mix of glossy black and metal, but the bottom looks good, but feels a little less than optimal with it's red and black, cheap plastic features. It is also bigger than the average phone, but surprisingly light for it's size, only a mere 102 grams. If you're looking for something really small, this is not the phone for you, but if you're used to the size of a Blackberry, then you should be fine.

Latest User Friendly OS

The 34 flip Blackberry comes with an upgraded operating system and user interface, that makes navigating and operating the Blackberry 34 a lot easier than previous generations. The new user interface also makes navigating the features much more easy on the eyes, as well.

Browse Websites From Your Phone

Browsing the web has also had an upgrade, with the new browser rendering HTML properly, unlike previous versions. The only problem is the Blackberry 34's processing power, this is definitely not the fastest phone on the market, but it can get the job done. The 34 is excellent for email though, rendering it in perfect, full HTML.

This smartphone also comes equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 2 megapixel camera built in. Great for all the everyday needs you might have. From wireless headsets to taking important picture, the Blackberry 34 flip phone is more than up to the task. Also included is a micro SD card slot and a micro USB port, which helps for extended memory and many other feature. The micro USB port is also used for charging the Blackberry 34.

The Blackberry 34 is listed as having a full QWERTY keyboard, but that isn't really the full truth of the matter. There are only 24 keys to the keyboard, with buttons having three separate functions. The 34 also has the expected Blackberry roller ball, for easy navigation. The 34's buttons are a little bigger than most phones, allowing those with big fingers to use the phone quite easily.

As far as screens go, the 34 has a very nice 2.6 inch main display that supports 65 thousand colors and a 240 x 320 pixels resolution. It also has a secondary display that supports 64 thousand colors and 128 x 160 pixels resolution.

In the end, the Blackberry 34 flip phone is a great smartphone that might not be for all, but will be just fine for most people. Unless size is a big issue, I would have to recommend the 34, it has all the great features you'd expect and need.
